Cindy Valdez
I have been training dog agility with my personal dogs since 1998. I have been training in the Temecula Valley since 2003. I have seen thousands of pups and their handlers learn a super fun sport; whether they ever competed or not, most everyone learned something about themselves and their dogs and they had FUN!!
I specifically train the Greg Derrett system and have been for more then ten plus years. It changed my handling and made me more of a consistent handler and allowed my dogs to think independently and allowed me to not have to be in front of my dogs all the time to give them direction.
I have trained all breeds of dogs and have found that most all dogs love the sport. I did however; have two dogs in my personal life that either didn't like to run or didn't like the atmosphere of other dogs near them. Therefore my life took a different journey and I added a new sport to my portfolio. After training agility with my own personal dogs for so many years I started training my dogs in the field of Nosework and found it to be a perfect fit for my two non-agility dogs. I have been training my dogs in the game of Nosework since 2012 and have found that this sport has been great for teaching focus and teamwork! I started training limited classes on Fridays at Jumpin' K-9's, Inc. to help my students with agility dogs become better partners and to build a better sporting bond. This has since grown and now I have several students that are competing in several organizations across the country in this fun sport!
Whether you choose to play in the game of Agility or Nosework I hope that you enjoy the time with your dogs. It is short, I have had five dogs that are no longer with us and currently have four dogs (two puppies that are just starting!) that play in dog sports and can tell you that when I have been physically injured that I have missed dog sports in my life! I do other things and have other passionate non-dog hobbies, but this is something that I look forward to as it makes me laugh and humbles me daily. I hope that you will find this a joy for you and your dog as well!
Looking forward to meeting you and your pups!
